Media Release 11 Sep 2024

Open Letter, 11 Sept 2024

Kia ora koutou katoa.

Ngā mihi nui o te wā ki a koutou.

Tuatahi, aue Kīngi Tūheitia, moe mai rā moe mai rā.

Tuarua, for te wiki o te reo māori, as signalled and outlined in the Press Release below, the kapai group will release a innovative suite of te reo māori learning interventions targeting both the smart TV and mobile phone user. The learning context for this set of learning is colour (which supports the intent of āke ake ake).

Included in this is a pop-up TV channel, broadcasting:

  1. Sat 14 Sept, nationwide, midnight to 6pm (18x 1hour scheduled HD educational videos)

  2. Fri 13 Sept - Fri 20 Sept, Auckland regional channel, 24/7 (7 days of 24x 1hour scheduled HD educational videos)

  3. Circa 6,000x 15sec sequenced, scheduled, curriculum aligned a/v learning events, chunked into 2 minute modules, and rendered as 24x 1 hour HD videos

This is possible through the creative use of AI and code to generate HD video. As expected this crashes timelines and existing cost structures while adding diversity.

Tuatoru, for the week beginning Sat 21 Sept, we are expecting to release a similar suite learning interventions to support Mandarin Language week.

Tuawhā, the kapai group would welcome presenting our innovative suite of learning interventions of any of your teams.

We have taken an ecosystem approach with our technology roadmap. As such our ‘enterprise’ technology stack is now both broad and deep (spanning community platforms, mobile apps, SPA’s, code driven content and AI). Beyond both media and tech, we clearly see that a community facing operating model may be a better fit for large globalised learning communities, than ones put forward last century for localised ones (click for ī-ahikā community share model).

I’m comfortable to contend that the kapai group are 2 years ahead of the recently heralded $70m South Korean investment in AI enable public education (click $70m to be injected into AI-powered public education - The Korea Herald), and learning in the lounge is better placed than the UK’s AI in the classroom.

We have a very small window to add logo’s or tohu to our content before this Friday.

I appreciate that will require nimbleness on both sides of the table.

I look forward to he kānohi ki te kānohi kōrerorero, he kapu tī.
